The six-month pledge told his sponsor he was trying get rid of his character defects, but it was like the game of Whack-a-mole. Every time he focused on one defect at least one more would pop up. His sponsor asked him, “Didn’t you humbly ask God to remove all your character defects? Then, let Him.”
