The speaker began his talk stating, “Once upon a time…” Initially I thought he might be insincere. When he stated he had been sober for 44 years, I changed my mind. Looking back on your beginnings in A.A. is just like seeing a fairy tale - that is where the magic began. He didn’t close his talk by stating that he lived happily ever after. He just said he tries to live his life one day at a time listening for God’s will.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.
